      Biography:
Henri Joel was born on the 8th of September 1977, in Toulouse, south of France. His musical journey begins at a very young age, when he attends the academy in theory and piano from the age of five. He doesn't really enjoy his classical education yet completed by singing in a choir; nevertheless he is interested enough to continue. Very soon he is fascinated by drummers and singers. His first drum-set was self-made with empty yogurt pots and cans. He finally gets his first "real" drums at the age of 13, and immediately starts playing as a drummer and lead singer with friends from school.
The first serious band Henri plays in is a rock band called Noise, where Henri plays the drums and sings backing vocals. At this time, he also gets his first bass, and starts playing on his brother's guitar. He then gets his own electric guitar and begins to play covers by U2, live and Radiohead, but also Nine Inch Nails, Biohazard, Senser or the Beasty Boys. Noise splits, but in the mean time Henri meets musicians at gigs and parties and will soon be the drummer of Speed Bolshoi, a funk-metal band.
They make their first recordings and play fairly big concerts in south France, occasionally wining prices at festivals. Henri Joel is 17 and more involved in music than ever; he starts song writing for himself. But the band doesn't last longer than two years. Henri decides to leave France at the age of 19 and goes to Vienna, Austria, where he meets the members of a band called Adrenalin. Here again he plays the drums and sings, but it is during this period that he also makes his debuts as a guitarist and singer on stage. The band makes its first recordings in a Viennese studio in 1998, and two tracks are put on a sample called "made in Vienna". In 1999, the band records two more tracks in another studio where Henri Joel gets to know Kurt Richter, the later recording engineer of producer Christian Kolonowitz.
After the Adrenalin period Henri Joel decides to put his drums away for a while in order to focus on singing, playing the guitar and writing. He plays gigs in bars, first alone, later with other guitar players and singers, keeping on song writing. He is more and more inspirited by mystical and other life experiences, also by new musical discoveries like Jeff Buckley and Nils Landgren. By 2002, he starts playing the drums again in various rock cover bands, and also in a jazz band. He gets to know DJ Diggy -who had his own recording studio in Vienna- and very soon records his first demo tape with him (5 tracks). During this time he learns a lot about recording techniques, and even starts mixing and mastering songs himself.
Diggy and Henri also do a few remixes together. One of these can be found on the album "summertime: it is now!" (Universal) under the name DJ Diggy & Dave Copeland.
In April 2003 after he had saved enough money, the musician decides to plan a week of recordings. He calls up Kurt Richter in order to settle a date.
In November 2003, Henri Joel records a CD with 5 new tracks at Tic Music Studios, near Vienna; some modifications are then made at DJ Diggy's D-production studios. Henri Joel still plays all the instruments himself but thinks more and more of finding musicians to create a band. After a long search for an authentic band-name, he opts for Whitejune and decides to go find musicians for the project.
Since January 2004, he's in search for a drummer, a guitar player (+ backing vocals) and a bassist (+ backing vocals).
The following persons are also involved in the project:
Laurent Padiou: Web designer and webmaster.
Dikran Telfeyan: recording, programming & mixing.
Kurt Richter: Recording, mixing & mastering.
Daniel Shaked & Michael Mandelbaum: Photos.
