Biographie :

DIE ! DIE ! MY DARLING !

Formé lors d'un concert de black metal / doom stoner à Toulouse en 2008, Die ! Die ! My Darling ! est un duo composé de Pauline Cosgrove et Stéphanie Commenay. Le but est alors de jouer fort, guitares saturées, voix éraillées mais les premières répétitions démontrent rapidement que les compositions du groupe se prêtent peu à ce style musical.

C'est donc ailleurs que les chansons de Die ! Die ! My Darling ! trouvent leurs racines : dans les histoires de garçons mélancoliques qui rêvaient de grands espaces, dans les lignes confuses qui unissent les gens, dans les séparations violentes et obsédantes.

Ces compositions pop folk, parfois accompagnées d'une boîte à rythme aux sonorités dance ont été enregistrées par le groupe et mixées et masterisées par Kristian Aduriz, rencontré lors de sessions d'enregistrement au studio Amanita.

Pauline et Stéphanie font aussi partie de My Imaginary Loves, quatuor féminin dont le premier album est prévu pour 2012. Stéphanie est par ailleurs la chanteuse guitariste de Call Me Loretta et a collaboré au projet de Kristian Aduriz, ACT pour lequel elle a prêté sa voix sur deux titres.

DIE ! DIE ! MY DARLING !

Spring 2008: it is during a black metal/stoner doom gig that Pauline and Stéphanie decide to start Die! Die! My Darling! The aim is to play loud, fast and to scream a lot. But after a few rehearsals, they realized this musical style didnt really work with their songs.

The inspiration lies somewhere else: stories of sad boys dreaming of bigger spaces, confusing lines tying people together, violent and haunting break-ups.

These folk songs, sometimes accompanied by a dance-sounding drum machine, were recorded by the band and were mixed and mastered by Kristian Aduriz, met during previous recording sessions at Amanita Studio.

Pauline and Stéphanie also play in My Imaginary Loves whose first record is due out next summer.
Stéphanie sings and plays the guitar in Call Me Loretta and is also featuring on Kristian Aduriz's solo project: ACT.
