Biography:
Kid Francescoli est un projet développé depuis 2000 par Mathieu Hocine.
A l'instar du footballeur uruguayen qui a porté les couleurs de l'OM à la fin des années 1980, idole du jeune M.Hocine et du jeune Z.Zidane, le Kid propose une musique techniquement impeccable, mais qui sait rester simple, accessible, et toujours très efficace.
Kid Francescoli compose des titres instrumentaux et chantés.
On y retrouve ses influences pop anglo-saxonnes (Grandaddy, The Flaming Lips, the Beach Boys), mais aussi la présence, pas si lointaine que ça de Marseille de la péninsule italienne, grâce au chant de Laetitia, sa compagne dans la vie.
Kid Francescoli, ou l’invention de la pop anglo-ritale.
Sur scène,le groupe est composé de 4 musiciens : Mathieu (guitare/chant), Laetitia (mélodica/chant), david (clavier/chœurs) et olivier (basse, chœurs).
Le travail de composition du Kid a déjà retenu l'attention de nombreux supports de promotion d'artistes indépendants :
En 2002, le morceau "mad legs" est pré-selectionné dans le cadre du concours CQFD du magasine Les Inrocks.
En 2004, il intègre la finale à 10 du concours ProjetDémo chargé de sélectionner un artiste pour le festival de Bénicassim.
Kid Francescoli sort aujourd’hui son premier album sur notre label après des début sur scène plus que prometteurs, en particulier lors du festival Marsatac 2005.
